About Our Story
I'm Kat and I own Beetle About. I started face painting in February 2022. I love trying out new designs, being tasked with painting the most random requests and ultimately seeing the reactions of children and adults when they look in the mirror for the big reveal! Since starting, Beetle About has grown over the years to offer Glitter Bars, Makeover Parties, Hair Braiding and 'Birthday Glam' appointments as well as the standard Face Painting packages. We work closely with many party suppliers to provide the ultimate party experiences, with no stress for our clients. Keep an eye on our socials for where we are 'beetling about' to next!
Where did 'Beetle About' come from?
The name comes from the phrase “beetling about” — being busy, creative, energetic and moving from one thing to another. To me, This phrase perfectly reflects the heart of the brand and business: colourful, imaginative experiences that leave little trails of joy (and of course sparkle) behind them.
Ladybirds
Ladybirds became the natural symbol for the business because to me they feel playful, memorable and full of personality. Their wandering trails inspired many of the visual elements within the brand, representing creativity spreading from place to place — from parties and face painting to glitter bars, hair styling, boutique products and future ideas (hopefully) still to come.
The soft brush strokes, dotted trails and pastel colours all tie into that idea of movement, imagination and leaving a little sparkle wherever Beetle About goes...
